Yippee, it’s nearly Bank Holiday and we’ve got a double helping of fun lined up.
Sunday 24 AugustPlatinum Jubilee Road Ride To mark the club’s Platinum Jubilee, we’ll be taking the club flag and planting it atop Box Hill in Surrey (OK, so that might have to be a metaphor). We’ll do our best to make it 75 miles. Everyone is welcome and the groups and pace will be set to make it a great ride for all. Look out for further details in next week’s Rolling News. ![]() | Monday 25 AugustGravel Fest Mugs will be leading another of her popular off-road rides on the Monday. The route will be friendly for MTBers and gravel newbies, with a Cadence toastie stop thrown in! If you’re interested in giving off-road a try, this is the ride for you. 😀 More details to follow, but get it in your diary! ![]() |
🙋♀️We Need You to Vote
The Committee is considering a Sunday Lunch to mark the Platinum Jubilee.
The outline plan is to hold it on Sunday 21 September at a pub in the Chailey/Newick area. This is the same day as the Circuit of Chailey, our traditional season closer. Riding in the TT won’t be a requirement to attend!
Before we invest further time in the plan, we need to know the level of interest, so please simply click on one of the options in the poll.
If you don’t vote, it’s likely to be taken as a no vote, so please express an opinion.
🔥 Proclaiming Peter
We’re all used to seeing Peter Baker topping the club’s weekly leaderboard on Strava, but even he outdid himself last week, clocking up a whacking 760km (which is near as damn it 500 miles - see what we did there?).
And what did he do after a 7-hour drive back from the place he did most of the miles? Jumped on the bike to do an extra 30, of course. Who wouldn’t?! 🤪
