Rolling News

The countdown is very much on for the Circuit of Danehill next weekend. Whether you fancy pinning on a number or lending a hand with the running of the event, we want to hear from you.

Elsewhere, we’ve got pictures from the new off-road rides, which got off to a cracking start last weekend, and from the Spring Classics screenings at the Black Horse, which are now officially a thing.

And finally, a reminder that Offer-a-Wheel is still rolling. Bring a new member into the club, and there’s a little reward waiting for you. 🚴

🗓️ Circuit of Danehill - 22 March

Don’t be shy now. We’re only one week away from the Circuit of Danehill on Sunday, March 22.

First timer or regular TT’er, sign up to ride here.

If riding isn’t for you, can you help with putting out signage, marshalling, or with coffee and cakes afterwards? If you can, we’d love to hear from you.

Off-Road Ride

There’s been some excellent feedback following the inaugural monthly off-road ride last weekend.

Among the riders were 10 new faces to the club, who we very much hope will consider joining us in the near future. (If that’s you, dive across to here).

The next ride is on 4 April (make a note). Based on the experience of this first outing, the plan is to run A and B groups: A will be a faster-paced ride with limited stops, while B will be steadier and no-drop.

Very well done to Chris Hurcomb for the initiative and energy he’s put into getting these rides off the ground. 👏

📺 Spring Classics Screenings

A bunch of cycling enthusiasts gathered in the Black Horse last Saturday afternoon for the screening of Strade Bianche.

The event showed how large and diverse the Lewes cycling community is. Not all of us want the same from our cycling, but this was a unique and enjoyable way of bringing us all together.

Next up are:

Sunday 21 March: Milan-San-Remo

Sunday 5 April: Ronde Van Vlandereen

Sat/Sun 12.13 April: Paris Roubaix (that’s going to be a belter).
