Plenty to discuss this week — strong results in the cyclo-cross league, your thoughts on next year’s club trip to Spain, and the weekend rides for your calendar.

But first, a quick reminder: the Jubilee Lunch is only a couple of weeks away!!

📣 Calling all fence-sitters and late deciders 📣

The Jubilee Lunch is definitely on. If you’ve been meaning to sign up, now’s the time!

We need to know the numbers for the venue, so, clear the diary, reschedule the in-laws and hit that form link below. Partners and children are very welcome.

16 November, 1:00 pm, Five Bells, Chailey — where else would you rather be? 

🌧️ Forge Ride : 1 November

There’s no scheduled ride for Saturday and rain is in the forecast. Rule-9 bad asses may, of course, do their own thing! Check out the chat.

  • Roll out: 9:15 am.

  • Duration: Approx. 3 hours, including the coffee stop

  • Start Location: The Forge, Ringmer

  • Dress Code: Come as you like

☕️ Sunday Social Ride: 2 November

There’s a new start time and meeting place this week, so take note 👀. Darren Haynes will be leading with coffee at Sheffield Park. Socially-paced, “no-drop” ride.

  • Roll out: 9:00

  • Duration: Approx 4 hours, including coffee.

  • Location: The Forge, Ringmer

  • Dress Code: Club kit preferred

🥇 Racing Results - Challenge Tyres London & SE CX League

Somerhill School, near Tonbridge, was the place to be last Sunday.

In the women’s race, Georgina Wise, finished a strong 5th from 11 racers, and Ryan Machin was 11th from 39 in the race for men in their forties.

Dan Street almost succumbed to a mechanical during his warm-up for the men in their fifties category, but jumped on Darren Haynes’ spare bike to finish a fine 9th from 57.

Darren, himself, gained eight places after the conclusion of the first lap to finish in 22nd place.

Well done Wanderers!

🇪🇸 Spain 2026 💃🏻

Planning has started for next year’s trip to Spain 😁.

Members, Richard and Maddy, have a villa in Dénia and are kindly offering to run a fully supported trip with B&B accommodation, airport transfers, and guided routes included. There will also be a hotel option for anyone preferring a half-board package.

At this stage, we want to gauge interest and preferences around dates and accommodation, so, yes, it’s another Rolling News poll! Tell us what you want.

The shop is now CLOSED. Delivery of orders is scheduled for 5 December; we’ll keep you posted when they arrive.

Remember, if you’re interested in purchasing club kit, you can always put in a request via the website. We use the requests to help decide when to open the shop next.
