Plenty on the calendar this week — from a fast Forge loop, to a hilly gravel ride and a social spin. Plus: racing results, recovery tips, Circuit of Chailey, and a member’s mega-ride across Europe.
🚴♀️ Forge Ride : 13 September
The Forge Ride is on this week and we’re going out on the Seaford loop, returning to Lewes via the C7. Faster-paced, training ride. Approx 60 km. Club kit preferred.
Roll out: 9:15
Duration: Approx. 3 hours, including coffee
Location: Forge Cafe, Ringmer
🌳 Gravel Ride: 14 September
The route for Sunday's gravel ride is a hilly one with a cafe stop at Caccia & Tails at Charleston Farmhouse. Approx 55km. Club kit preferred.
Roll out: 8:30
Duration: Approx 4 hours, including coffee stop.
Location: Boots, Uckfield
☕️ Sunday Social Ride: 14 September
This week’s road ride also heads out to Caccia & Tails at Charleston Farmhouse. Paget will be leading. Socially-paced, “no-drop” ride. Club kit preferred.

ESCA 10 - On a wind affected G10/87 course last weekend, Neil Edwards claimed second road-bike for the Wanderers in 24:53, and Ben Gregory smashed his personal best with 25:09. Check out the full results here.
London and South East CX League - Half-a-dozen Lewes Wanderers made the trip to Stanmer Park, Brighton. Ryan Machin finished a fine 12th, and Daniel Selmes 41st in the under-50s; Georgina Wise was a magnificent second in the female under-40s; Dan Street (9th), Darren Haynes (25th) and Steve Burgess (50th, and first over-70) all achieved honours in the over-50s. Coming up this week is the VTTA 25. Neil Edwards and Ben Gregory line up for the Wanderers.
🍁 Circuit of Chailey - 21 September
We’re only one week away now from The Circuit of Chailey and there’s still plenty of room for riders and volunteers. Sign-up to ride or step forward as one of the five volunteers we need.
We hope to bring the Sunday Social Ride past Chailey village hall in time for coffee and cake with the competitors. Drop by from around 10:00 if you’re in the area.

Hannah JacksonFrankfurt - Dusseldorfe - Dieppe There’s no ignoring this 888 km, six-day, bike-packing epic through Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and France. Kudos to new-member, Hannah, who’s keen to get out on a club ride as soon as work commitments allow. One thing’s for sure; that ride is going to take a lot of coffee, sports massage and recovery to get over! | ![]() |
