Rolling News

This week, the Circuit of Chailey brings our TT calendar to a close, we’ve got an update on the Jubilee jerseys, oh, and a new coffee stop worth adding to your list…

🚴‍♀️ Forge Ride : 20 September

Turn up at the Forge if you fancy another go at the Seaford loop following last weekend’s washout. Faster-paced, training ride. Approx 60 km. Club kit preferred.

  • Duration: Approx. 3 hours, including coffee

  • Location: Forge Cafe, Ringmer

🚴‍♀️ Circuit of Chailey: 21 September

We’re game on for the last TT of the season, and time is running out to sign-up. Come and give it a try. Club kit preferred.

☕️ Sunday Social Ride: 21 September

Meet up at Chailey Village Hall at 10:00 to join the TT riders and volunteers for coffee. A shorter Sunday ride will then roll-out from there. Socially-paced, “no-drop” ride. Club kit preferred.

  • Roll out: 10:30

  • Duration: Approx 2 hours.

  • Location: Chailey Village Hall

👕Jubilee Jersey

They’re nearly here! Our special edition Jubilee jerseys are due to arrive from Kalas on 19 September. We’ll let you know as soon as they’re ready to collect from Darren.

Whether you’re on a club ride, or just out for a spin, it’ll be brilliant to see club members looking sharp in our Jubilee kit.

🔥 Racing News…

VTTA 25. Ben Gregory claimed a creditable 6th road bike and 14th overall in a competitive field of 25 at last weekend’s VTTA 25-mile TT. Ben crossed the line in 1:07:20. Neil Edwards was, unfortunately, late back from his holiday in Ibiza 🕺, and didn’t make the start line 🙃. The full results are here.

☕️ Have You Tried…

Hever D&R Coffee Shop

Around a mile beyond Hever Castle, Hever D&R is cyclist-friendly with bike racks, plenty of indoor/outdoor seating, and a generous 20% discount for those arriving on two wheels.

Our brave scouting party was impressed with the great coffee, substantial cakes and nice loos(!), a welcome reward for the lumpy ride out there.

A venue we’ll happily return to.
