Here we go again — crowns are being worn (heavy ones, apparently), and there’s a date for the AGM to get firmly in the calendar (we’re throwing in a free buffet to make it completely unmissable).

Add in a cracking photo of the week, weather-dodging options on Zwift, and a gentle nudge for the last of the renewals, and we’re properly up and running for 2026.

Let’s get into it. 🚴‍♂️.

🚴 Forge Ride - 10 January

Everything depends on the weather. Dan will lead a faster-paced training ride on the Seaford loop if temperatures are above zero and it’s dry. Sub zero = 🚫. Keep an eye on the group chat and cast your vote if asked.

  • Roll out: 9:15 am

  • Duration: Approx. 3 hours, including the coffee stop

  • Start Location: The Forge, Ringmer

  • Dress Code: Club kit preferred

🚫 Sunday Social - 11 January

An early call has been made by the ride leaders not to run the Sunday ride because of forecast sub-zero temperatures. There is likely to be a group ride on Zwift in its place (see more details on the Zwift club below).

  • Roll out: 8:30 am

  • Duration: Approx. 4 hours, including the coffee stop

  • Start Location: Boots, Uckfield

  • Dress Code: Club kit preferred

🏆 Christmas Quiz

Congratulations to Paget Cohen on becoming the Lewes Wanderers’ Mastermind for 2026.

Paget scored 55 points out of a possible 65, proving that even he doesn’t know everything about the club.

📆 Date for your Diary - 20 January

We’re holding our AGM at the Dorset Arms, Lewes, from 7:00 pm on 20 January.

The AGM is a fantastic night out (it is, honest). This is where your Committee is elected, and the direction of the club for the next 12 months is agreed.

If you like what the club is doing, then come along and show your support. If you have ideas or would like to see changes - big or small - this is the place to have your say.

If nothing else, there’s a free buffet!

🇪🇸 Spain 2026

Seeing the anticipation for the February trip already building in the group chat is great.

We’ll soon be looking to finalise numbers for April/May. We’re hopeful of being able to run A&B groups, so whether you’re looking for sightseeing on two wheels or something closer to a training camp, this will be the trip for you.

While the weather is “challenging”, it’s worth a quick reminder that we have a Lewes Wanderers Zwift Club.

Join the club to be notified of upcoming rides.
